‘Developing and supporting access to quality learning opportunities’
Contact: Colleen Baker, Training and Development Officer, 01900 822110
Address: 54a Main Street, Cockermouth, CA13 9LU
Aim of the Project
To develop and support access to quality learning experiences. This is done by keeping up to date with and keeping people informed about developments in the learning environment.
The project will provide support and development opportunities for members in developing learning opportunities for volunteers, workers and young people alike, whether accredited or non accredited and may be able to signpost towards possible funding support.
The project provides an OCN Centre for members to operate as satellite centres in the delivery of accredited programmes for young people and adults and provides development, ongoing and moderation support for organisations wishing to develop and deliver any of those programmes.
Programmes currently being supported are:
- Introduction to Youth Work
- Working Together, Peer Research and Reporting
- Confidence Building
- Effective Volunteering
- DJ Skills
- Learning for Life
- Keyfund Skills
- Tutor Assessor Award
- Crime Awareness
- Art
The Learning for Life Programme has a large selection of optional units, from which to choose from, so you can personalise your programme to the Young Person's needs.
