V is for VolunteeringCumbria Youth Alliance is working with Wearev the government initiative to encourage 16 – 25 year olds to take part in volunteering in their own community. We have places for 20 full time volunteers in the age range 16 – 25 and you need to be quick as places are filling quickly.
The young person will get:
• Up to £60 per week in volunteering expenses or a maximum of 26 weeks
• Access up to £500 towards training and development programmes that increase knowledge and skills
• Volunteer in a organisation of their choice
• Help to source an opportunity if they don’t have an organization to volunteer in
• Get help to move on after the volunteering programme
• Chance to network with other young volunteers across Cumbria
• Can volunteer up to 30 hours per week – some of this could be at home
• Can cover all sorts of volunteering from administration to youth work to helping the elderly
• Is open to all young people in the age range in Cumbria
• Is open to all organisations who are members of Cumbria Youth Alliance
