NCVYS Participation Works
How to Guides
As part of their Participation Works (PW) involvement, NCVYS produces 'How To Guides'.
They have already written 4 guides; Safeguarding, Infrastructure, Faith and Culturally Sensitive Youth Work and Celebrating Success and a number of NCVYS members have taken the opportunity to get involved in writing case studies or acting as peer reviewers.
Each guide serves as an introduction to the subject, is aimed primarily at participation workers and runs to around 3000 words.
Guides feature at least 3 case studies in addition, drafts of each guide are reviewed by 4 peer reviewers.
Case study providers and peer reviewers each receive a £50 payment to their organisation.
You can have a look at the guides here; http://www.participationworks.org.uk/ResourcesHub/ParticipationWorksHowtoGui
des/tabid/316/Default.aspx
They are currently writing a further two guides:
- Engaging children & Young People from hard to reach groups
- Producing a remuneration and rewards policy
If you are interested in contributing a case study to either guide, or registering your interest as a peer reviewer please get in touch with :
Steven Pryse, Youth Participation Development Officer
on 020 7278 1041 or via e-mail steven@ncvys.org.uk
You can download a project outline Here which gives further information about the How To Guides and case study guidelines. They are working towards a late July deadline for the first guide and an October deadline for the second.
